Our anticipated day in Athens was the only day spoiled by rain, resulting in not being able to take better photographs of the Parthenon by getting closer.

Unfortunately our ship only spent the one day there with a limited time ashore available to achieve our aim.

For years I wanted to see the structure close up and maybe touch it, as I had studied and made drawings of it when studying architecture.

It is unfortunate that the environment is gradually eroding such a beautiful  building with its accompanying history.
