POINTS OF VIEW - LINES - MOVEMENT.

POINT OF VIEW.

Photos A & B.   Photo A is very static.

Photo B.           By moving the location from where you take a photo, you can get a far better photo with action lines. Note the tower, a third of the way in from the right, the diagonal (creates action) wires leading to another tower in the distance.

This all adds toward a 3D effect, another subject dealt with later.

Photos C & D.    Photo C is supposed to be of the monument, not the building, which takes over as the subject.  Photo D is obtained by moving in and looking up.  Notice the wires acting as diagonals to draw your eye to the top of the monument.

LINES & MOVEMENT.

PHOTOS E & F.   Here we have examples of diagonal converging lines, and individuals moving into the frame, with the requisite space in front of them. Note the 3D and action effects of this technique.

PHOTOS G & H.  Graceful lines add to a photo. One of the most common and graceful lines used in composition is called the S curve. The eye tends to follow it into the picture. In  H the S curve also forms a diagonal line. Adding to the photo is a well placed figure in the left lower third point. leaving space for the figure to move into.

This photo combines three of the  concepts already dealt with. In addition, I would point out that the light colour of the path is needed, as a darker path would just merge into the photo, therefore not accentuating the S curve.
